To make money for playing video games has always been a dream of mine. I’ve been playing video games my whole life. One day I was scrolling through Facebook when I saw a guy sitting on a Jet Ski holding a check for $10,000. The ad said he won the Jet Ski and $10,000 cash playing a bowling game on his phone. I was in shock. How could this be true? Can you really make money from playing video games? My too good to be true senses triggered, but I couldn’t help myself. If it really was true, how hard could it be? So I went ahead and downloaded Strike! Real Money Bowling by Touch Mechanics powered by Skillz to check it out and see how it works.
I was very skeptical at first. Can I really make money playing video games? It’s free to play, so I’ll give it a shot. After winning 10 practice games I unlocked an achievement. The reward? $2 bonus cash that can be used to win REAL MONEY!
After playing the game for free for 5 months and researching a bit more about the company I made my first deposit of $30. This was a test to see if I really can make money playing video games.
Six weeks later I withdrew $61.60. I more than doubled my investment in a little over a month. I really can make money from playing video games! Five weeks later I withdrew another $64. Five weeks after that $86.99. I was killing it! Then after a few more withdraws I ran out of money in my account and deposited $100 this time. Which lasted for over 5 months. So I ended up profiting $155 for the year. Which bought me a couple new games for my Xbox. I was fueling my gaming addiction by gaming. Talk about a dream come true! Skillz has a refer a friend program. This was a huge part of accomplishing my dream to make money from playing video games. When I started they were giving away $50 in bonus cash to anyone who could convince their friends to make their first deposit. A light bulb went off in my head. I could make a YouTube channel and promote my promo code. Whenever someone used my promo code 2F05J thats a zero not an O; on their first deposit they would get an extra $10 and I would get $50 in bonus cash on my account. So I quit playing for a little bit and focused on creating the videos and marketing my promo code.
In May of 2016 I withdrew $65. After a few more withdrawals Skillz dropped their offer down from $50 to $10 per referral. Which sucked, but it wasn’t the end of the world. I didn’t let that slow me down. In July of 2016 I withdrew a whopping $958.69 from Bubble Shooter! Tournaments.
The make money from playing video games dream wasn’t so far fetched after all. My mom would be so proud. I ended up making $7,300 in 2016 from this company by playing 3 different games, the third one being my least favorite, Diamond Strike.
There’s a solid strategy I put together to convert my bonus cash in order to make money from playing video games. I waited until I had 4 referral code uses before entering the $100 Bubbletastic tournament for a $33.86 entry fee, in Bubble Shooter! Tournaments. Four players play and the winner gets $100. $33.86 of that was bonus cash so I couldn’t withdraw it and was forfeit upon withdrawal, but I was withdrawing $66.14 for playing two 3 minute games of Bubble Shooter! Tournaments. That’s a great way to make money from playing video games if you ask me. Way better use of my time than playing an Xbox game that cost me $60 to buy and didn’t make me any income after that. Get $10 in Bonus Cash in Bubble Shooter Tournaments!
I was consistently making $1,600 a month for the first 6 months of 2017, then they introduced the Skillz bands. Which restricted my ability to play worse players. This kind of put a damper making money from playing video games, but again not the end of the world. They only allow myself, and the other players, to play against people of equal skill. Making it fair for the new players, but more competitive for the stronger ones. That being said I couldn’t get matched as fast in the Bubbletastic as I used to. When I did it was tough to win.
The last 6 months didn’t go as well as the first 6 did, thanks to the introduction of the Skillz bands. I didn’t let that stop me from making money playing video games though. Throughout 2017 I made ten $100 deposits. Withdrew a grand total of $12,500 USD. As well as redeemed $1,000 worth of Amazon gift cards from their loyalty program. Up from $7,300 in 2016. That’s how you make money from playing video games! Since opening my account in January 2015 I’ve made over $20,000 from playing video games powered by the Skillz multiplayer platform.
The referral program still gives the person using my code and I $10 in bonus cash. Which can be used to enter real cash tournaments. Giving other people the opportunity to make money from playing video games as well. If I don’t have any real cash in my account then I have to use 100% bonus cash to enter the tournament. When I win I’ll receive whatever I used to enter the tournament back, plus whatever I won in real cash.
So if I played a $20 game with an entry fee of $12 and won, I would get the $12 bonus cash back plus $8 in real cash added to my account. If the next game I play is a $10 game with a $6 entry fee I would use 90% of my real cash and 10% of my bonus cash to enter. If I don’t have any real cash then I’ll use 100% bonus cash to enter. This model makes it very difficult to convert my bonus cash to real cash, but isn’t impossible.
If you play your cards right and get your promo code out there like I did, you can play their games for free, and make money playing video games at the same time. Almost sounds too good to be true, but I’m living proof that it’s not! Follow me on Twitch and I’ll answer any questions you have LIVE. Making money from playing video games has never been easier!
Skillz has a very unique loyalty program, Ticketz. Ticketz are awarded regardless the result of the game. Win or lose, I get Ticketz. The higher the stakes the more I get. The more I play the faster I earn them. I’ve played enough that I get a 6x multiplier for my Ticketz on every game for the next 12 months. The more I played the easier it was to get to the next multiplier. Since I maintained the 6x multiplier for a whole year I don’t have to earn 800,000 Ticketz a month anymore. For the next 12 months I automatically get a 6x multiplier. Which got me a spot in the Skillz V.I.P program, you’ll know more about that if/when you get invited.
There is a player, Lasha147, that comes into my Twitch channel frequently when I’m broadcasting myself live playing Bubble Shooter! Tournaments that says he profited $9,300 in 2017 without advertising his promo code like I do. His secret? Ticketz! What he does is plays until he has 5.5 million Ticketz then withdraws every penny in his account. Then redeems 1.1 million Ticketz for $100 bonus cash 5 times in a row. He then plays until he has 5.5 million Ticketz again, and repeats the process over, and over. All he has to do is break even, place on the Pro League; which I’ll go over later, and he makes $500+ every time he withdraws! It’s genius. He makes some pretty good money from playing video games with this epic strategy.
Unless you’re like me and advertise your referral code, don’t redeem your Ticketz for anything but bonus cash. It’s very useful and easier than it looks to convert.
One of the greatest perk for loyal players is the Pro League. If you’re playing for money you’re automatically entered into the Pro League. There is no entry fee. You get medals whenever you win a cash tournament. You get 1 medal per dollar won in the real money tournaments. The person with the most medals at the end of the Pro League wins.
The average Pro League runs for 3 days and first place gets $500+. Right now in the Bubble Shooter! Tournaments Pro League they’re giving away $5,491 and first place gets $577. Note: The person who gets first place isn’t always the greatest player, they just played and won more games than everyone else.
Some people play for 16 hours a day to maintain 1st place. If you want any chance at getting 1st place you should have nothing planned for the duration of the Pro League, and play for at least 8 hours per day. They pay the top 100 players though so I didn’t have to get 1st place to make money from it. Even if I get 100th place I’ll still get $3 on top of what I’ve already won. So I don’t stress myself out about getting 1st place anymore. $30 in Bonus Cash in Solitaire Cube when deposit $30!
I’ve gotten 1st, 2nd, and even 3rd. Getting 2nd and 3rd sucked, but I still got over $200 on top of what I had already won for the 3 days so it was worth it to play as much as I can during the Pro League. After all I still make money from playing video games. What more could I ask for? When a Pro League ends another one starts right away. So try to be one of the first to play when the new one starts, and try to maintain your position throughout the Pro League. Finish in the top 100 and you get paid! It’s that easy! Every three days at least 100 people can say that they make money from playing video games.
If you’re looking for a unique way to make money during the commercial breaks of your favorite TV show, Skillz is the best way to do so. It’s free to play and super rewarding when you win. It’s even mobile!
If you want to make money from playing video games this is one thing you need to jump on board with, but THIS IS NOT A GET RICH QUICK SCHEME and is NOT GUARANTEED to make you money. I’ve invested a lot of time and money to get where I’m at today. This is more of a hobby than a job, even for me. Even I don’t look at this as a main income source, I still have my day job. This is just for fun and should be treated that way for everyone that reads this. Very few people can make enough money from playing video games to consider this a career. Play responsibly and don’t play with money you can’t afford to lose!
Congratulations on taking your first step toward making money playing video games. Hope you enjoyed this, and I look forward to seeing you in the Pro League! Click here to download Cube Cube for FREE!
